February 27 - IKK Building Forum 2007, Frankfurt

Specialised Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Companies present their expertise in building technology. The first IKK building forum will take place under this headline from the 6th ?10th March 2007 in Frankfurt during ISH-Aircontec 2007. The focus will be on considering the building from an overall energy point of view. In Hall 6.2 exhibitors and specialised refrigeration and air-conditioning companies will present their solutions especially for planners, engineering and architectural firms, residential construction and property companies, plant engineering and construction for large projects and to specialised trades. At a special show at stand D04 in Hall 6.2 the IKK Building Forum will be demonstrating qualifications of specialised refrigeration and air-conditioning companies in building technology, e.g. in the subject areas of energy efficiency, overall energy consideration of buildings, energy reduction, the use of regenerative air conditioning and heat pumps. The presentation will be augmented by specialist presentations in the presentation area in Hall 6.2, Stand B44/C40.

In the future there will be a sharp conceptual divide according to target group and area of operation in terms of where qualified building technology will find its specialised exhibition platform and relevant suppliers, and yet these will be unified: On the one hand at ISH-Aircontec and the IKK Building Forum in Frankfurt, and on the other hand at IKK Stuttgart.

February 23 - Daikin's Streamer Discharge Decomposes Norovirus

Jointly with Mr. Kazutaka Kano, Associate Professor, Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine, Daikin Industries, has demonstrated that the company's own streamer discharge technology can decompose viruses.
At In the test, 10 micro liters of solution of noroviruses' antigen was put into the microwell and dried at room temperature. Then, the dried antigen of noroviruses were exposed to streamer discharge for 24 hours.
After the exposition exposure to streamer discharge, noroviruses' antigen was washed in 100 micro liters of dilute solution, and the concentration of noroviruses' antigen was measured according to the ELISA protocol (a method for quantitatively identifying the antibody reaction in terms of the degree of extinction). As a result, it could be confirmed that more than 96% of noroviruses' antigen were had decomposed.
With the destruction of protein on the surface of noroviruses, noroviruses are changed in their structure so that spiral RNA in viruses is exposed,. while The RNA itself is easily decomposed by ribonuclease (enzyme decomposing ribonucleic acid) existing in the environment. These processes, it is thought, have made virus decomposition possible.
