May 18 - On the 4th of June, 2002, in Kiev in the conference-hall of the hotel "Khreshchatik" (second floor) from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. there will be held the seminar "Fluorocarbons: 70 years in the history - what is the future". The seminar is held by “Du Pont de Hemur International”. Participation in the seminar is free of charge. May 13 - From the 14th till the 17th of May in Kiev there will be held the Fourth International Specialized Exhibition “AQUA -Therm 2002". May 11 - Daikin company has pleasantly surprised everybody by having issued on the market the new multi-zone inverting system SUPER MULTI PLUS. This system is offered both as a version with the use of R22 freon, and with ozone-safe freon R407, which is becoming actual at the moment in Ukraine. May 8 - According to the current legislation of Great Britain, the use of R22 at production of new air-conditioners operating only for cooling will be soon prohibited. However, for the models with reversing thermal pump the use of R22 is allowed yet within 3 years. May 6 - The danger of final prohibition of the use of HFC-refrigerants has not disappeared, but its future looks safe in the majority of European countries except Scandinavia. In Denmark, for example, recently there has been suggested the draft f the law proposing to impose tax on the use of chemical substances, including refrigerants. For R134a it is about $14 per1 kilo. May 3 - The world market of the equipment for air-conditioning continues its growing. "Balance of forces" has been violated after China has started to transform into a super-power in this market segment. May 1 - Prime-minister of Russia Michael Kasianov has spoken to the subject of ratification by Russia of the Kyoto Protocol concerning reduction of emissions of industrial wastes into the atmosphere.
