In this chapter, the functions which are performed by the ATC systrem on maintenance of the microclimate necessary to passengers in the automobile interior are described.

Basic functions of ATC are:

Temperature regulation.

For creation of comfortable temperature in the automobile interior chosen and established by temperature regulator switches, the engine of air mixing choke is automatically adjusted depending on entrance signals of thermodes of internal and external air, sun rays and signals ON, OFF SWITCH of the air-conditioner.

Regulation of air amount.

For creation of the temperature by the chosen adjustment of the temperature regulator switch, they automatically adjust the speed of ventilation depending on entrance signals internal and external air, sun ray thermodes.

Regulation of the air stream movement.

At choice of heating, the period when the temperature of cooling liquid is low (approximately 50°С), the air stream is adjusted so that initially anot much air passed to the bottom part of the saloon at the choice of a mode.

Regulation of suction aperture.

Through mechanical operation of SWITCH of suction aperture there is performed either the choice of external air delivery or internal air recirculation, at a choice of the mode of hoarfrost removal.

Regulation of exhaust outlet.

Through mechanical operation of the switch there is performed a free choice of the exhaust outlet. First of all, out of the chosen aperture the air adjusted on temperature is coming out.

Control of the air-conditioner compressor.

The compressor is started by the air- conditioner switch and is used, when they want to have temperature lower than atmospheric. However, the air-conditioner is started automatically when the fan is on the position above "LO", the temperature of external air is higher 10°C and when mode DEF MODE is automatically switched in ON.
