Plastic expansion tube consisting of the mesh screen and expansion valve is located on the entrance pipeline of the evaporator.

This expansion tube on a line of a liquid high pressure refrigerant limits the refrigerant. It measures its stream and delivers the low pressure refrigerant to the evaporator with low pressure. Shielding filters from two sides of entrance and target apertures protect expansion tube from pollution.

Checking

Malfunction of the expansion tubes is usually shown by low value of sucking and head pressure, and also simultaneously infringement of a cycle of cooling. Therefore they carry out checking through installing manometers.

If at working system of conditioning to switch off ignitions of the engine, the refrigerant in the system will flow before alignment of pressure of the expansion tube from high pressure to low. Thus, during approximately 30-60 seconds the sibiliant sound will be heard. It is normal and not because of malfunction.
